CeDUR Embarks on Massive HOA Roofing Project in Pennsylvania

The homeowners’ association in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, a premiere 55-and-over community in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County, chose CeDUR Synthetic Roofing Products as the replacement roofing product for their community.

The project to replace the roofs and skylights on all 171 homes in the neighborhood with CeDUR synthetic roofing shakes is expected to take two years. After being removed, some of the existing cedar shake shingles will be recycled into wood chips.

The HOA president said the roof project represents a significant investment for the gated community, which adds greatly to the value of the homes.

“This community is now 38 years old, and it was definitely time to upgrade our roofing material to something that looks great and offers better fire and hail protection and, therefore, insurability,” said the HOA president.

The project is the first large-scale installation in the Northeast of the roofing material made by Aurora, Colorado-based manufacturer, CeDUR.

Originally a farm dating back to the 1700's, the HOA is a professionally managed 55-and-older community in Whitpain Township. Property managers maintain 121 acres of rolling landscape and thousands of mature trees, in addition to the roofs and exteriors of all the homes. The community also features a pool, tennis courts, and the Manor House, an 18th century mansion that hosts a variety of social activities.
