CeDUR synthetic wood roof
  • CeDUR Synthetic Roofing Products are molded from natural cedar shakes and emulate the beautiful rustic wood appearance of heavy hand split natural cedar shakes. Just like hand split natural cedar shakes, CeDUR synthetic roofing shakes feature a thick 3/4" inch butt end.

CeDUR Synthetic Roofing Products are manufactured in 50+ unique molds to create the most beautiful natural wood shake appearance. Our molds are randomized daily so every bundle of material is truly unique. This creates a unique variation of shakes in each packaged bundle. Natural movement is designed into our product to give your roof the most authentic wood shake appearance. This provides stunning curb appeal and deep beautiful shadow lines which makes CeDUR indistinguishable from natural cedar wood shakes.

  • CeDUR is one of the most light weight roofing products available for purchase. CeDUR is just 170 pounds per square (1 square = 100 square feet on roof). This makes our synthetic roofing products easy for roofing contractors to handle and install. Our synthetic cedar shake roof products do not require a special batten system during installation or the need for costly structural weight modifications or special reinforcement to the roof structure. CeDUR installs direct to the roof deck and no special tools or hardware are required during installation. Our light weight synthetic cedar shakes can be installed in any climate or environment and can help improve the curb appeal and property value of your home.

  • CeDUR synthetic roofing products replicate the authentic wood look of heavy hand split natural cedar shakes. Alternative roofing products and other synthetic roofing products attempt to replicate the wood shake look, but other roofing products can have an un-natural shiny plastic look and plastic sheen appearance in direct sunlight. CeDUR shakes are designed and engineered to reproduce the rustic natural wood look with the latest in design and technology.

Wood is a timeless look that pairs with most home styles and color schemes. Whether you have a coastal, modern, traditional, cottage, southwestern, colonial, Victorian or contemporary style home, you can trust that CeDUR shakes will complement the architectural integrity and style of your home.

A CeDUR synthetic roof makes it possible to keep the intended architectural wood shake look of historic structures while meeting modern day performance requirements. CeDUR roofs provide extreme fire resistance and durability. CeDUR products feature Class A fire resistance, Class 4 impact resistance and certified wind resistance up to 115 miles per hour. CeDUR synthetic shakes are light weight at just 170 pounds per roofing square, and CeDUR is trusted by historians, preservationists, and historical preservation societies across the United States. As a pioneer of polyurethane roofing materials since 1998, CeDUR has been a reliable roofing material for government projects, religious facilities, and educational buildings.

  • Natural cedar shake shingles come in one of two color varieties, red cedar and white cedar. At CeDUR, we do not manufacture unrealistic color options or a variety of color choices and custom color options. Instead, we manufacture 4 color options in 3 widths that replicate the authentic wood look of natural cedar shakes that you have grown so accustomed to loving.

Our state-of-the-art polyurethane manufacturing process allows us to create incredibly authentic and realistic color options with unique grain patterns and genuine wood tones, textures, depth, and hues. CeDUR is engineered to replicate the authentic beauty of natural cedar shakes and complement the architectural integrity of your home.

  • A CeDUR synthetic roof installs like natural hand split heavy cedar shakes. CeDUR features just three product pieces: 1) CeDUR starter 2) CeDUR field material and 3) CeDUR hip/ridge material. There is no need for special accessories or special tools during the CeDUR roof installation. This allows for easy installation on a roofs valleys, eaves, gable, rake, and hips because the CeDUR product can be easily cut and scored using a utility knife or skill saw to fit into tight and unique spaces on your roof without sacrificing appearance.

CeDUR synthetic shakes can be installed in straight courses or staggered courses. A straight course installation offers a more uniform wood shake appearance while a staggered course installation provides a very natural and rustic wood look.

Why Architects prefer CeDUR Synthetic Roofing Products

The Most Natural Cedar Wood Shake Appearance

Our colors are designed and engineered to replicate the authentic beauty of natural cedar shakes and complement the architectural integrity of any home. While other roofing alternatives claim to offer the authentic wood shake look, none can match the authentic wood shake beauty of CeDUR synthetic roofing products. Other roofing products that attempt to look like natural cedar shakes can appear unauthentic and have a sheen look and shiny appearance in direct sunlight. CeDUR synthetic wood shakes do not utilize UV inhibitors or UV stabilizers. Our products age naturally with the sun’s UV light and CeDUR implements a proprietary color system designed to gradually weather to natural wood tones up to the first 90-120 days of installation (depending on time and intensity of sun exposure), and then stabilizes at a weathered wood color for the life of the product. After that time period the color will set and remain constant over the life of the product.

A CeDUR synthetic roof looks just like a heavy hand split natural cedar shake roof. CeDUR shakes are molded from natural cedar shakes and feature unique grooves, texture, and depth. Just like heavy hand split natural cedar shakes, CeDUR provides a beautiful 3/4” inch thick butt end. A CeDUR synthetic roof provides beautiful color, dimension, thickness, and grain patterns that you expect from the most realistic imitation shake.

  • Perfectly replicates the enduring wood beauty of heavy hand split natural cedar shakes

  • 50+ molds are randomized daily so every bundle of material is truly unique

  • Multi width product with 5 1/4”, 7 1/4”, and 12 1/4” synthetic shakes

  • Thick beautiful shadow lines provide stunning curb appeal

Lasting Design Benefits

A roof is often overlooked when designing a property. The use of CeDUR can differentiate your portfolio and put a unique stamp on your projects. CeDUR synthetic shakes are versatile and complement many architectural styles and color schemes. A CeDUR synthetic roof compliments modern and contemporary designs very well and looks beautiful when paired with brick, metal, and copper accents.

CeDUR is trusted on historic structures, historical landmarks, and historic preservation projects throughout the United States. This is because CeDUR makes it possible to match the original intended look of a historic property while providing modern day performance characteristics. As a pioneer of polyurethane roofing materials since 1998, CeDUR has been a reliable roofing material for government projects, religious facilities, and educational buildings.

  • Trusted on historic landmarks and historical structures

  • Looks beautiful with brick, metal, and copper accents

  • Compliments modern, contemporary, and historic designs

Durability of Synthetic Roofing

CeDUR synthetic roofing products are polyurethane based and feature Closed Cell Technology. CeDUR is a solid product from top to bottom and front to back. CeDUR is not a hollow back or cavity back roofing product, so on the back side of the product you will not notice a waffle like structure. Instead, CeDUR is solid throughout with color through pigmentation. Our color through pigmentation and Closed Cell Technology allows color to permeate all the way through our product instead of being applied to just the surface of the product. This allows for easy installation on a roof’s valleys, eaves, gable, rake, and hips because the CeDUR product can be easily cut and scored using a utility knife to fit into tight or unique spaces on your roof without sacrificing appearance. CeDUR synthetic shakes require no sealing or treatment to cut edges due to their closed cell structure which permits no significant water absorption.

CeDUR products are rated at an insulation value of R > 2.0 R factor (approximately 20% greater than natural heavy cedar shakes). Our proprietary manufacturing process allows CeDUR synthetic shakes to be solid throughout, light weight, and durable. CeDUR features a Class 4 Impact Resistance Rating, stand-alone Class A Fire Rating and a 50 Year Limited Warranty. These are the highest ratings available in the industry.

  • 50 Year Limited Warranty

  • Class 4 Impact Rating - UL 2218 Impact Rating

  • Class A Fire Rating - UL790, ASTM E108 Fire Rating

    • No special fire-resistant underlayment is required during installation to achieve the Class A Rating

  • CeDUR products are rated at an insulation value of R > 2.0 R factor

  • Wind resistant - certified to 115 mph wind - warrantied to 90 mph

Easy to Install and Light Weight

CeDUR is one of the lightest roofing products available for purchase. At just 170 pounds per square (1 square = 100 square feet on your roof) CeDUR shakes are lighter than architectural asphalt shingles, clay tile, cedar shakes, concrete, recycled rubber, slate, and more. This makes the product easy for roofing contractors to handle and install on your roof. CeDUR does not have a cavity back so you can cut and score the product with a utility knife or skill saw. This allows for easy installation for a roofing contractor at a roof's hips, valley's, eaves, and rake edges.

Being light weight means a contractor can easily install and maneuver the CeDUR product. Our synthetic roofing products do not require a special batten system during installation or the need for costly structural weight modifications or special reinforcement to the roof structure. CeDUR installs direct to the roof deck and no special tools or hardware are required during installation. CeDUR is able to meet the roofing industry’s most stringent testing standards with regards to wind, impact and fire while maintaining a light weight product composition.

  • Installs like natural cedar shakes

  • Can be installed in straight courses

  • Can be installed in staggered courses

  • Does not require a special batten system

  • No special tools or accessories are required

  • Light weight and durable - just 170 pounds per square
