Natural Cedar Shake Wood Look

CeDUR is the most natural wood looking synthetic composite roofing product available. Our State-of-the-Art Polyurethane manufacturing process allows us to mold each CeDUR shake from natural wood, giving CeDUR unquestionable wood beauty while enhancing your home's curb appeal and property value. A CeDUR roof gives your home classic wood beauty without the constant maintenance and headaches inherent in natural wood shake shingles.

A CeDUR composite roof provides:

  • Deep grain patterns

  • Low water absorption

  • Rich natural wood appearance

  • No plastic or sheen appearance

  • No splitting, rotting, decay, or risk of fire

  • Thick beautiful shadow lines and grooves

  • Natural movement is designed into our product to give your roof the natural cedar shake appearance

Fire Retardant Synthetic Cedar Shakes

Our synthetic composite roofing tiles are fire resistant and Stand Alone Class A Fire Rated. Many roofing products feature a Class A Fire Rating, but you must use an underlayment system to achieve the Class A Fire Rating. The CeDUR product itself is Class A Fire Rated - without the need of a special fire resistant underlayment - with testing certified through the ICC (International Code Council). In the event of a fire, CeDUR self extinguishes flame spread.

Unlike many synthetic roofing products that are composed primarily of Polyethylene, CeDUR is composed of Polyurethane. This allows us to manufacture a roofing material that is extremely light weight and durable and is even more durable than it’s natural counterparts and competitive offerings.

Natural cedar shakes ignite at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature on our Class A certified burn test reached temperatures as high as 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit and CeDUR composite roofing tiles did not reach ignition.

In the event of a fire, flames spread roof to roof, with embers from the fire being a major cause of traveling fire damage. Using a roofing product that self extinguishes in the event of a fire has the potential to save properties and save lives. In terms of installation, you can lay CeDUR shakes down on top of 30# felt and you have a Class A Fire Rated roofing system.

This fire resistant technology is patented and proprietary to CeDUR.

Class 4 Impact Rated Synthetic Composite Roofing Shingles.

Highest Impact Resistance Rating

There are four impact resistance ratings from 1 to 4, with 4 being the most impact resistant. In the Class 4 impact test, a 2 inch steel ball is dropped from a height of 20 feet on multiple surface points of a CeDUR Shake. In order to achieve a Class 4 impact rating the material must withstand the impact test and not suffer damage.

CeDUR passed the test with a Class 4 Impact Rating.

Our testing was completed through QAI Laboratories (Quality Assurance Institute) and our test results can be accessed using the link below or by typing ESR3838 into Google Search Engine.

Solid Product with Color Through Pigmentation

Our Color Through Pigmentation allows color to permeate all the way through our product instead of being applied to just the surface of the product.

Unlike many roofing products, CeDUR is not a hollow back or cavity back roofing product, meaning each individual shake is solid. Our Color Through Pigmentation means you can cut right through our product with a utility knife. This helps ensure superior installation at the roof's hips, valleys, ridges, and eaves.

A solid product composition also means better insulation for your home. CeDUR is an energy efficient roofing material with an R-Value in excess of 2.0. This provides added roof insulation and makes your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION

CeDUR shakes are trusted by historians, preservationists, and historical preservation societies across the United States. At CeDUR we understand that replacing or repairing older roofs can be difficult. Traditional roofing materials found on aged properties no longer meet modern safety or building codes. They are a liability during severe weather because they do not adequately protect the building from natures elements and they are no longer aesthetically attractive. CeDUR shakes offer a long-term roofing solution while enhancing a property’s curb appeal and more importantly restoring the intended architectural design and style of a historical property. CeDUR shakes provide the authentic wood look in a durable and lasting material that is lightweight and does not require any structural weight modifications prior to installation.

CeDUR roofs make it possible to match the original intended look of your historical property while meeting modern day performance measurables. As a pioneer of polyurethane roofing materials since 1998, CeDUR has been a reliable roofing material for government projects, religious facilities, and educational buildings.
